The story of an old colleague of mine who in one moment of poor judgment, lost two jobs at the same time.
We all know ways in which people can get in their own way. We know either from getting in our own way, or watching others. This series was inspired by a both a period of extreme self-awareness and watching a few colleagues harm themselves. I hope that all those who listen gain some insights and are inspired to look inward.
One of the things I’ve learned in my career (and life) is that feedback, whether you perceive it to be positive or negative, is part of the recipe for success. It is for this reason that every time I get to know somebody, or begin to work closely with somebody, I always tell them the same thing: “Do not be afraid to tell me that I have something in my nose.”.
In this episode we’re discussing the genesis of why I tell people to do that and why feedback is so vital to every relationship and situations.
We all want success, but it takes work. And we should not be tempted to just to be as good as everybody else, but to be our best selves to the limit!
